RB211 Engine Arrives!

We were offered by Monarch Airlines last year, for £1, a surplus RB211 engine languishing in a warehouse at Stansted Airport. Sadly, Monarch went into administration before the deal was finalised but the administrators honoured the original agreement and the engine arrived in February. It is currently up at Military Vehicle Wing workshops awaiting an engine stand as the one it was delivered on has to go back to Monarch Engineering Ltd at Luton. Our plan is to clean and re-furbish it and eventually put it on display.  Did you know that the RB211 was tested on a VC10, sadly not ours, but that does provide a tenuous link! An extensive article can be found in DAS news, link http://das.org.uk/rb211the-engine-that-broke-and-made-rolls-royce/
